More than a Bed and Breakfast, this upscale getaway caters to a kinder,
gentler tourist looking for beauty, authenticity, good
health, and FUN.
Near the ancient Pu'uhonua
O Honaunau (Place of Refuge) on the Big Island
of Hawaii's sunny Kona Coast, this "spiritually
correct country club" is a modern day sanctuary
in the monkeypod trees. It is ideal for romantics,
families, individuals, groups, honeymooners and wedding
parties.
Room prices range from $100 to $250 per night including breakfast

The Honeymoon Suite
(aka Royally Sweet Suite)
$250 per night
The Most luxurious suite Nestled in a lush jungle setting with ocean
views, this suite features a king-size outdoor bed—with
memory foam and 1200 thread count sheets, goose down pillows
and comforter of course--with a mirrored canopy.
The bed and food preparation areas are screened-in under a
pavilion roof—like a bird cage for people. The other
half of the suite is an adjoining indoor redwood room (separated
by a shoji screen) with a queen-size futon, two-way access
bathroom, dressers and entertainment center.
While the suite is
a perfect secluded hideaway for a couple, some people enjoy
sharing this exquisite experience with family or friends. Outside, hidden by
tropical vegetation for your privacy, is a shower and a romantic
double bathtub sunken in lava. A private round deck
overlooks rock walls and gardens, a meadow and beyond to the
white water of the bay at the ancient Place of Refuge. You can step outside of time in this magical
space.

and below the roof deck, this 20' x 22' room has a spacious,
open feeling with a high ceiling, two walls of screen and
one wall of mirrors reflecting the unobstructed view of
Kealakekua Bay. Opposite the mirrored wall is a wall of screen
that can be closed with sliding mirrored doors. This airy room
has a private toilet, sink and a deep 2-person tub.
This room has simple furnishings including a removable double hammock,
Victorian loveseat, and a comfortable memory foam king-size bed

this room. Families have added futons for children.

The Writer's Studio $175 per night
This is a "homey"
place to stay - a cozy, studio-like space, below the main
house on the bottom level with a private entrance, bathroom and
outdoor shower. One wall is screened, with curtains for privacy.
It
has meadow and ocean views -- even from the comfortable
king-size bed with (as always at the Dragonfly) luxurious sheets,
goose down pillows and comforter. There is a galley kitchen, walk-in
closet, and an additional queen-size bed. A
table with four chairs sits in front of a large picture-view
window. This room works well for families with children,
as well as writers or honeymooners.

The Dragonfly Room $125 per night
The Dragonfly Room is
part of the main house, which is shaded by the canopy of a giant
monkey-pod tree. The bedroom is located up 3 stairs to the right
of the kitchen. It has a queen-sized bed and a full bath with tub
inside--as well as a beautiful private outdoor shower. In addition, there is a large private
sun deck under a beautiful monkey pod tree canopy.

The Dolphin
Room $100 per night
On the same level as
the Dragonfly Room, separated by a bathroom, the Dolphin Room is
contiguous to the living room with a sound-proofed wall. Sounds
from the road, which has very few cars at night, is less in this
room than any other space. A note for late sleepers, however: breakfast
sounds can be heard in the kitchen early in the morning. The dolphin
decor is charming and many people like the private entrance and
‘outdoor’ toilet, sink and shower area, which is screened
in with bamboo for privacy.
